The rewarding destination for hikers and nature aficionados
Not everyone gets to Nenzinger Himmel. For one thing, the idyllic alpine settlement is hidden at the end of the valley. Secondly, it can only be accessed via shuttle bus or taxi. This “heaven”, the translation of “Himmel”, is accordingly quiet and untouched. It’s always worth a trip. For hiking, walking or a rest stop.
Take me to your “heaven”!
The road is full of adventure and turns. Rock faces to the left and the gorge to the right, carved out by the river Meng over the course of millennia. The alpine settlement with the beautiful name Nenzinger Himmel comes into view. Around 180 holiday and alpine huts, loosely connected, can be found, most made from wood. Between them are meadows and pastures, and the huts are surrounded by forests and imposing mountains.
Hiking and enjoying
Unhurried paths lead up to small lakes, lively torrents, waterfalls and the alpine dairy. Those who want to go higher can scale a summit and settle for the view of the mountains of Vorarlberg, the Principality of Liechtenstein and Switzerland.
