****Bike tour tips

Biking trail Oberer Walgau
Bludenz

This roundtrip through the upper Walgau area is part of the Walgau bike trail. The Walgau - Bludenz bike trail is signposted all the way, using forest and meadow paths generally free from traffic and asphalted or farm roads seldom used. The trail starts in Nenzing. It then runs alongside the Ill and the Walgauer artificial lakes through the so-called Tschalenga Au to Bludenz. One can take either the Upper or Lower Illrain. Option to stop and have a look around the old town of Bludenz. The trail continues via Nüziders through the Ludescher Unterfeld to Ludesch. And then on alongside the Lutz on the Thüringer side past the town of Bludesch to Gais. Cross the old Il bridge and return to Nenzing. The "Oberer Walgau" roundtrip is 30 kilometres and also perfect for families.

Hochmontafoner bike trail

This bike trail was completed in 2000 and goes right through the whole valley. This trail connects to the Vorarlberger biking network
this means biking from the Piz Buin mountain in Silvretta to Lake Constance. You can take your bike on the bus/train to travel well into the Montafon valley (town of Gaschurn) and then bicycle back to Nenzing.

Bike roundtrip "Around the mountain town"
Starting point is the Bludenzer Illrain. Follow the Ill towards the East to where you can cross the motorway close to the Montafon exit. Cross the Montafoner road and take the Alfenzstraße with very little traffic to Stallehr. The round trip turns left into the Dorfstraße just before Stallehr. Go through the Bingser Siedlung and on through the Bingser Au towards Brunnenfeld and back to Bludenz. After the St. Peter monastery, the roundtrip turns right, goes past the BMX parcour and through the "Beim Kreuz" residential area to Runge.

Bludenz
Klostertal bike trail

The Klostertal (20 km) bike trail starts in Bludenz and ends in Klosterle. The route runs across the valley floor of the Klostertal, mainly close to Alfenz, the height difference is about 400 meters. The Klostertal bike trail also offers two challenging mountain bike paths, the Sonnenkopf roundtrip and the route into the Nenziggasttal to Klösterle.

Unterer Walgau roundtrip

Starting point is Nenzing again. This time you take the right side along the Alpenbad towards Feldkirch.  A panoramic bike path takes you past two fish lakes to Frastanz. Excellent signs help you on the way to Feldkirch, whereby you have to cross the main road once. You then soon reach the Montfort town Feldkirch. The impressive market place is very inviting for a rest and refreshments. On the way back, you can switch to the valley side and travel back on the left of the Ill towards Nenzing. This easy family trip has an overall length of about 25 kilometres.

Trip from Nenzing to Bregenz
This starts again in Nenzing. First ride towards Feldkirch. A bike path starting at the Marktplatz (market place) runs through the town to the Ill-Rhein estuaury. Here you can observe a fantastic natural spectacle. The path then takes you on towards Bregenz. You can jump on the train in almost every village on the way to travel back! The overall one-way distance to Bregenz is about 60 kilometres.

Trip from Nenzing to Bad Ragaz (CH)
We take this organised trip together with our coach with bike trailer to Bad Ragaz. We make a stop here and enjoy the beautiful area. We now ride alongside the Rhein towards Feldkirch. This trip is suitable for those not quite so well-trained because it goes slightly downhill all the way!
